cant update most of my security software?
I recently switched from the internet explorer browser to firefox. since then my programs are having a problem updating. I can update AVG 8.0 and Ad-Aware with no problem but others such as Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, Spysweeper, Spybot, COMODO firewall cant update. i didnt uninstall IE before using firefox. and now when i tried it says programs are using IE which is damaged and can no longer connect to internet. i have firefox set as default browser but i guess the prgrams still want to use the broken IE instead.
any help would be much appreciated.

Try to open IE go to tools >> internet options >> advanced >> check if it is the default browser and let it be the default browser again so the programs can connect to the internet
