question about ......MRSA?
Brother contracted MRSA from local hotel, was hospitalized which turned into a 11 day stay and knee surgery, he is now unable to walk, due to the MRSA getting into his bones and joints. We want to know if he can sue the hotel for this or is he out of luck? And what steps he should take for closure in theis situation.

First, this should be reported to the state's health authorities and investigated. If you have strong evidence that your brother contracted MRSA from the hotel and they do not have proper cleaning methods (i.e. proper antibacterial agents), then there is a chance that you have a good case. Find a lawyer that would take a percentage if you win. Otherwise, paying someone hourly would get too expensive, especially if you lose.

MRSA is an antibiotic-resistant disease with little treatment options. It is extremely difficult to track the source of the disease. What evidence do you have that he contacted it at a local hotel? I had MRSA this year and I suspected it was from a massive flood that my city survived...it wiped out our hospital. I thought it was possibly from helping with the cleanup of flood materials but my physician said it could literally be from anything.
My treatment kept me in isolation with IV antibiotics. My right arm was literally covered with scabbed sores and it was an embarrassment to go out somewhere. I underwent extensive questioning about the people I had contact with and they were checked, but I could have gotten it from someone in an elevator, bathroom, or any other public place. Who knows the number of people I exposed.
MRSA is a very serious illness that needs to be contained quickly. I doubt very seriously if a lawsuit would work in your brother's case unless your Board of Health, Haz Met, or other officials determined that the MRSA virus was indeed harbored at the local hotel.
They suspected several sources of mine but could not pinpoint the source. I doubt any legitimate attorney would take the case, so be wary of one who is eager to...they will fleece you. Some say you only pay if you win...they take 2/3 of your winnings, which wouldn't be much anyway.
Tell him to put his efforts behind getting well and be thankful the disease didn't kill him. If someone he knows develops the disease, would he want to be sued for passing it along? He could be sued, too, so be careful.
Just my thoughts. Hope your brother is getting better by the day.
Happy New Year!
