tech specs of these 4 cpu's from worst to best (these four cpu's are all of the type Core 2 Duo).

    T5750: 2.0Ghz, 667Mhz FSB, 2MB L2-cache

    T5800: 2.0Ghz, 800Mhz FSB, 2MB L2-cache

    P7350: 2.0Ghz, 1066Mhz FSB, 3MB L2-cache

    P8400: 2.26Ghz, 1066Mhz FSB, 3MB L2-cache

concerning the T and P at the beginning: P means less thermal dissipation power

P doesn't mean Penryn (that is what you can get from a copy/paste answerer, see above)

there is often a confusion with the word Centrino. Centrino isn't a processor but a technology for laptops invented by Intel. this technology consist of 3 parts (cpu, chipset and wireless card) with the property of having a low power consumption what is indeed important for a long battery life.

  • Well, I didn't know either, at least until before 30 seconds with Google. Apparently the P-series is indeed Intel's Penryn, and it draws a max of 25 watts of power, as opposed to 35. It has only half the L2, but I think it's otherwise basically the same, and Intel chiips don't really show gains above about 3MB of L2, anyway. I suggest the P-series unless you need the very fastest, but wouldn't really put much emphasis on T9xxx vs. p8xxx or t5xxx vs p7xxxx, and would consider it one of the secondary considerations.

Also, add Asustek to your list of companies if you're interested in playing games. They have many offerings with dedicated graphics, often at reasonable prices.
