14g straight barbell.... beads stuck.. how do i get them off?
i have a three week old tongue peircing and the bar is now too long after all the swelling is gone. i have a shorter bar to replace it but i can't get the beads to unscrew. how can i (safely) loosen them up? i'm not sticking a dirty pair of pliars in my mouth!
**the barbell is internally threaded if that makes a difference
i've tried the latex glove thing. i'm a nurse so that was one of my first attempts. i really dont want to make a trip to my piercer. its over an hour each direction but i might not have a choice

I had to go back to the shop that did it, most of the time they clamp it on so it is almost impossible to take it out on your own, the reasoning behind that is so you dont take it out to close up, or remove it to get infected.

this may sound stupid, but make sure you're twisting them the right way. I thought my labret was stuck, but I was just twisting the ball the wrong way. I know that probably makes me sound really dumb, but it's confusing because it's in your mouth...
other than that, you could try sticking your tongue out for a minute until all the spit evaporates so it's not so slippery. To get even more torque you could try wearing latex gloves to get a better grip on the beads. if none of that works, definitely go back to your piercer, because trying to get it off yourself with pliers could end badly. They'll do it for free and it won't take long.

Try holding a dry facecloth over the bead while you twist. If that doesn't work, go back to your piercer and ask them to change it.
