Transferring iTunes Music to Computer...help?

I got a new ipod [hand me down iphone], and i want to know how to transfer music from my old ipod to the computer. on my old ipod i have music that i dowloaded from either a cd or the internet [old music that isnt available for sale]. the problem is that i dont have the cd, and i downloaded them on my laptop, which broke. i also have all the files from my laptop backed up on an external hard drive, but i just need to know how to get the music from either my ipod or the computer.

any suggestions would be great!

It can only be done in so many ways. If you don't want to use transfer software, the only other way is to copy the files from your old computer to the new one, then import them to iTunes. Contrary to that other answer, Macs can get viruses though the odds are much greater for PCs; the reason being, not because of complicated operating systems or updates but because the odds that a hacker has to gain from a Mac virus are miniscule because there are fewer Macs online. And, again contrary to that other answer, iDump is a PC transfer software. Senuti is for Mac.

Transfer iPod/iPhone/iTouch apps to computer or recover lost or missing music, backup and restore all of iPod/iPhone/iTouch content I recommend you Cucusoft iPhone/iTouch/iPod to Computer Transfer. This software can keep your iPod/iPhone safety.

Try an iPod-to-computer transfer program. Tansee iPod Transfer is a good one on this. You can free download it to try at http://gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfe...

    Best luck!
