How should I get my hair cut?

DESCRIPTION: My hair is long, somewhat thick, and dark brown. It is straight, but I have to use a straightener to get it really smooth otherwise it has kinks in it. When I blow dry it, it gets kind of poofy/little frizzy/voluminous. I have a few layers at the tips of my hair. My bangs are just underneath my eyes and to the side.

PROBLEM: My hair doesn't have much shape. It is like two curtains, I think.

I'm thinking about more layers to thin it...but how? Lots of short ones...how high?? etc.

Thanks!

Update:

My hair length is about 6 inches below my chin.

you should get your layers cut to right below the ears. or at your chin. depending on how long your hair is.
