I just unpacked my new washing machine. It was wrapped in polystyrene and plastic sheets as you expect, but when i opened the door it was wet on the inside. Why would this be?

Don't worry it will most likely get wet upon use.

If it was in a cold environment, say a delivery truck, and then put into a warm environment such as your home, it could have been condensation.

They tested it at the factory? Forgot to wipe it down afterwards! It got leaked on at the warehouse... Snowed on.....It was stored outside....Someone did laundry before you received it.

It's leftover water from testing at the factory.
