My betta might be sick?
I tested his water and it was fine. But he seems swollen. His stomach is looking swollen and his color is starting to fade a little, light lines are all over his body, but that's what happens to him when he's stressed, So I know he's stressed out by something.
I know the other day he was dive bombing his gravel and got advice about letting the water sit out longer before using it. I wonder if the water the other day caused him to become sick or do you think it's something else?
What are some ways I can check him for disease?

if you just put him in straight water without letting it dechlorinate( waiting for the chlorine to go out of the water if you dont know what that means) then it is very possible he is suffering from chlorine poisoning. you can go out and bye some freshwater neutralizer from a local pet store to fix the water up. also you have to make sure that the water is the right PH. if its too low or high, that can also make him very sick. you want a ph of about 7.4 with bettas.
as for disease, the only thing i think he would possibly have is dropsy. if his scales start to look like a triangle and he start to look like a pincone, then he has it.
you might also want to keep in mind constipation if hes swelling too. the insides of a boiled pea would help fix that problem
if you really want to look into disease go here
