hand wash in washing machine?

sounds stupid. the items that say hand wash... can you wash them in the washing machine without hurting them? like on slow and the gentle cycle and all that? i dont see how it would make a difference

    If the material isn't silk or something totally fragile and stained by water, yes, you can wash it in the machine. But first purchase what is called a lingerie bag and put the item in that. An example of the type of bag I am describing is at the URL below. Of course, you would use the cold/cold/gentle cycle. And first check that the material is not stained by water. Remove as soon as the washer's cycle is complete (I use the oven timer for this so I won't forget) and hang to dry.

    I do all the time and no trouble. I do put some things in a mesh bag first so there is no chance of them getting caught on the agitator.
