is air fuel sensor oxygen sensor?

we changed the primary oxygen sensor for Honda accord LX 2000, and the engine light came one again, this time the error code read" air fuel sensor" is this air fuel sensor the secondary oxygen sensor by the catalyst converter?

the air/fuel sensor can also be referred to as the oxygen sensor.

the LX 2000 has 2 opxygen sensors.

one is before the catalytic converter and the other is after.

a code scanner would narrow down which one is acting up.

However, replacing both is usually a good rule of thumb.

OR.. you have another problem, like maybe a broken vacuum line, which is allowing air into the system without the computer's knowledge and that could be affecting the o2 sensor's readings.

With a four cylinder engine, the code definition should have read: B1S1 (for the upstream sensor responsible for fuel/air ratio monitoring) or B1S2 (for the sensor downstream of the catalytic converter, which only monitors that part). If you changed the front (S1) sensor and you still have a code for it, save your old sensor as there may be nothing wrong with it. If the code is for the O2 sensor heater, check your fuses. If not, the code is probably a symptom of another problem, such as a misfire, restricted fuel filter or intake air leak. Is this the same code you got previously? Did you install a direct-fit replacement or a universal sensor that had to be configured for your honda's wiring connector?

Did you have a code that pointed to the O2 sensor because the air-fuel sensor is the O2 sensor but why you would change a sensor for giving information to the computer that points to your engine not running correctly. Getting a code that points to the O2 sensor is a symptom and hardly ever is the O2 sensor the problem.

there's should be two of them before and after the catalyst converter
