Can you name a MLB team that was alienated by fans because of poor management,players, in the late 80s or 90s?

    The lack of a slaary cap in baseball has led to smaller market team such as the Pirates, Royals, (Devil) Rays, Expos/Nationals being unable to compete

    Look at the Pirates you referenced.

    They were unable to keep Bobby Bonilla and Barry Bonds being blown out of the water by the Mets and Giants

    They blew money on Derek Bell and Tony Armas

    They dumped Brian Giles and Aramis Ramirez for peanuts

    They are forced to trade their best players at the deadline every yr

    Xavier Nady-Yankees

    Jason Bay-Red Sox

    Oliver Perez-Mets

    And you just know McLouth and Sancez will eventually be dealt

    Late 80's it was the Yankees.Many of the fans were dressed as seats in Yankee Stadium.
