Question about childrens clothing sizes...?
I am buying a gift online for a friends kid. He's 1 yr. I found exactly what I'm looking for, but the smallest size is 2T. Does that mean for a 2 yr old Toddler? Would it be stupid to get it for him now anyway? I know she'll love it... even if she has to wait a year to put it on the kid! :-)

How big is the one year old. My daughter has ALWAYS been way off her growth chart. Not that she's overweight. She was, for her age, but not for her height. She's very tall and solid. And she fit nicely into some 2T's at one. It all depends on the clothing line too. Most sizes are crazy. Some 12months you can hold up to 2T's and not see a lick of difference. It's annoying. I'd say go for it. Who cares if it's a little too big? And the child will grow into it. Plus sometimes kids clothing shrinks like crazy in the wash. I'd get it. :)

BUY it... nothing says your gift has to fit RIGHT now, especially if it's an outfit you know she'll love.
My grandchildren have so many clothes... most gifts of clothes are in much bigger sizes...because everyone knows they have so much in their current size.
My granddaughter wears 2T, but has a closet half full of 3t, 4t, even some 5t stuff already. My daughter never complains...
Happy shopping !!!

T does advise infant. My youngest daughter is small for exceedingly much 6 and remains donning a 4-5T. At age 3 till this newborn is freakishly tall is probably donning a 3T or 4T particularly if she is narrow. My different daughter grow to be particularly tall and skinny (nonetheless is) and grow to be donning a 4T at 2 a million/2 and that grow to be somewhat super on her. i do no longer understand the measurements precisely yet that must be of somewhat help.

sometimes my daughter can wear a 2T and she's just turning 1 this week... and she's not chubby by any means. And it's true, rather too big than too small :)

It very much varies. I think it's meant for a two year old, but it's not unusual for it to be off. It's better to be too big than two small! If they'll like it than go for it!
