Try uninstalling FIREFOX if this is crashing it could be a program causing it to shut down your computer if it does not cure it Try this
go to the search facilty underneath your Start icon type in msconfig and hit enter choose task manager hit enter you are now at the system config utility look for( load start up items) program uncheck this apply and reboot now if you dont have your comp shutting down it is most likely a program causing in to do so finding this out which means that you recheck the startup but you untick 1 box at a time in the list apply and reboot each time a little bit time consuming but hopefully you can find which program is causing the problem

either there is some virus in your laptop or your system files are corrupted..
make sure your norton is fully updated.. then scan your laptop..
then open CMD(run as admin) and type
sfc /scannow
you will need your windows CD/DVD for this.. and it will restore your corrupted system files..
if still your laptop is not working then try to restore it to a previouse date.. using windows system restore..
and the last option is to format your laptop :P
