I will probably get thumbs down for this but most musicologists feel that the Beach Boys Good Vibrations was probably the most genre changing song in rock/pop.
I love Autobahn but it is not as groundbreaking.

I would say there were two songs: "Peggy Sue" by Buddy Holly and "Johnny Be Good" by Chuck Berry. To me, those two songs ushered in the era of Rock 'n' Roll and changed how popular music was presented. Following them came a whole slew of RnR artists, long before The Beatles, Led Zepplin, Metallica and the rest.

In the last few decades it would have to be Walk This Way (Aerosmith/Run DMC) as this single-handedly brought hip hop to the MTV generation.
Before then it was probably a track of Sgt' Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band (The Beatles). Maybe "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"?
I can think of a few that have ruined popular music! Specifically any that Simon Cowell had anything to do with!

Never heard of your one!
Everybody is always banging on about "Smells like teen spirit" by Nirvana, saying it changed the whole music scene. Personally, i don't think it did.
