I Have an HP Desktop with windows XP How can i get rid of Spyware for Good?

And don't say by downloading a program like SuperAntispyware because i have been through all that and i have also already done one System Recovery. Obviously this didn't remove the spyware. What can i do and how do i do this if its possible?

    Turn your computer off

    /question

You will never be able to get rid of spyware for good, its that simple.

If you want to try again, try reformatting your computer and being more careful the second time around.

    1. Norton 360 - 80 bucks and you're set

    2. Stop using IE, try firefox or google chrome

    3. When you get Norton right click every program you download and scan for viruses.

That should be a good start. You can adjust the settings for high security.

    Another method. Try linux.

Another cheap method. Make an administrator profile and don't use it. Make a user profile and only use that one. If it becomes infected delete user and associated files. May still infect admin account but its better than nothing.

Download and install AdAware. This is a free program that will scan and remove any spyware that is found.

    Reinstall Windows:

When you buoght your computer, you'll sometimes receive the software with it. Look for your XP CD, pop it in and restart your computer. It'll ask you to hit any key to boot from CD, do so and follow the instructions. When it asks you to reformat your drive, be sure to do the full format and not the quick format.

Several answers are very good. But if you don't know how to do what they suggest, it's useless. I would buy a good virus protector, and have my pc formatted and re programed ..

It will cost about $100 but at least you can never have this problem Again.
