how to wash fur hood?

hello i have a zip up jacket that has a fur hood that doesnt come off.... how do i wash it? will the washing machine & dryer hurt it?

    I just washed the hood from my daughters jacket while it was on the jacket, gentle cycle and air dried. Looks great.

    The cleaning instructions in your jacket should tell you whether it can be machine washed and dried or whether it needs specialist cleaning.

    You could lick it. That's what my cat does.
