we want to name our baby boy JETER have you ever heard of someone name Jeter what do you guys think of the name?
i am a huge yankees fan, but i didnt pick the name my wife did we have a niece her name is jade and we want to stay with a J name for him

I've never heard it used as a first name (I'm sure it has been, I just don't know anyone with it) but I think it's very cute! It sounds like a name that, even if it weren't a last name or a Yankees player, would soon be entering the list of new/trendy (not trendy in a negative way) names being used.
It's easy to say, very masculine, and not one of those "out there" names...go for it!

Yeah its different but I would name my kid that it sounds like Peter....sorry for being so harsh but Im just telling you the truth and I could live know that my kid could be teased....(ie) Jeter Peter
Which he is your child and it totally upto you on what you name him this is just my thought on the name......again Im really Sorry

i like Jeter but everyone will think of derek of course you could call him Jet for short i think a little boy would like that.

never heard it as a first name.
but i instantly thought of Derek Jeter
from the yankees.
i dont know if i like it, mixed feelings about it.
