This is a video by Grand Puba, called ''I like it'' from back in the early 90's. I'm trying to figure out what song he took as a sample and used in for the song..Listen to the tune, and help me figure this out, it's on 1:48 of the video. Thanks
Sorry I don't mean the Debarge sample ''I like it'' I meant...The part where Grand Puba sings ''could it be I stayed away to long'' lyrics..What song did he use, and switch the words around?

The part Grand Puba is singing at 1:48 is from Michael Jackson's "I Wanna Be Where You Are" song, which Diana Ross helped write. This line was also used in MC Lyte's "Poor Georgie" song. I hope I have helped you. Check my sources to see the lyrics matching to MJ's song. :) Happy answering!
