What is a good job for a 16 yr. old? Hate my current one.?

I work at Shop Rite right now, and get paid a little over 7.25$. (Don't know the exact amount off the top of my head) Also, they're overloaded with cashiers, so I don't get a lot of hours. I need to save up money for some repairs on the used Mustang that I'm buying. At this rate, I'm only getting maybe 40-80$ a week; hardly enough for car repairs... Could anyone give me any ideas for a job (No I don't want to do those online surveys) that is pretty laid back, non stressful (tired of picky customers at the grocery store), and relatively high paying for my age.

Much thanks in advance.

Well, work where you shop. That way you get discounts. If you like a certain clothing store at the mall try to get a job there. You'll get 40% off the merchandise. I have asked some of the workers! lol

Movie theater. You get to watch movies for free on slow days.

Auto Parts store. You might get throwaways that you could use for your car or even large discounts.

If you want a gym membership, see if you can get a job at the YMCA.

Do you have any particular skills you could market? Do you play an instrument? You could teach lessons. Are you an academic achiever? You could tutor. I know teens who are paid $30/1/2 hour to teach an instrument. Our neighbor (who is 16) gets paid $25/hour to tutor middle school students. We have teens in our neighborhood who got together and organized a day camp for kids during Christmas and summer breaks. Parents will pay big bucks for this type of service. You can advertise on Craigs List. Be creative. Good luck!

when i was 16 I worked at a video store :) it was fun, pretty laid back and since it was a small company I got quite a few hours. I brought home probably 5 to 6 hundred every two weeks. which was ALOT when i was 16 ( I dont know if thats alot to you or not, but it was to me). And, bonus, I got free movie rentals.

Lifeguards make good money because of the training it takes. This is one of the easiest jobs and you get a good tan.

Also you could babysit kids, there's no tax and i usually make 40+ per night. It's easy work and pretty fun too.

Wow, narrowed down your options there. Try Starbucks, not a bad place to work, Or like most kids here in vegas at least, We tend to go for life gaurds. But, I dont know how many you have there. Or, you know, Bookstores are always a good one.

If you're good with kids then I would opt for baby sitting or pet sitting if you're good with animals
