Is the Chargers game a trap game for the Steelers?
On Monday, the San Diego Union-Tribune posted an article by some writer (Ken Cox?) for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette on Monday saying that the Steelers shouldn't worry about the Chargers, and spent most of the article writing about how the Steelers should be preparing for the Ravens. Do you think the Steelers are overconfident and could overlook the Chargers?
OneLostSoul - That's exactly what I thought when I saw that article: What an idiot. That's all the Chargers need is bulletin board material about how the Steelers should be preparing for the Ravens, who haven't even won their Divisional Playoff game yet (although I think they'll beat the Titans - I hope so - I would rather take on the Ravens in San Diego than the Titans in Tennessee for the AFC Championship).

If I were you, I wouldn't listen to what any writer or news honk that have nothing to do with the game thinks about the San Diego - Pittsburgh match up. Worry about what the players and coaches think and do in preparation for the game. I seriously doubt the Steelers or any team in the league is taking the Chargers lightly. They shouldn't take any team in the playoffs lightly anyways. If they are good enough to be in the playoffs, they are good enough to beat you.
The Chargers are better than their record. Usually I would say that a team that is good enough to be 8-8 and lucky enough to be in the playoffs are going to be road kill in the first round. This is an exception to the rule. The Chargers underachieved for the first 12 games of the year. They lost 5 out of their 8 games in the last minute of the game. This is a team who could have easily been 12-4 and playing this game is San Diego instead of Pittsburgh. I am quite sure Mike Tomlin knows this way more than Ken Cox or any flunky writing for the Post Gazette seems to forget.

Well yeah, the Chargers have always been pesky to my Colts in the playoffs, so looking too far ahead would be really foolish, that being said I believe the Steelers should be able to beat the Chargers (certainly not a forgone conclusion though), however the Ravens should beat the Titans and that should be a real challenge.

as a Steeler fan i know that they will never overlook an opponent. They know they have problems with their O-line and know Chargers have a decent defense. No team should ever overlook another during a playoff game.To answer your question the writer is writing what he feels. On any given Sunday a team can lose. Hope this helps.

If that's true then that writer's a dope. No way the Steelers would overlook any team in the playoffs. Let alone one that battled with them to the end once already this season. There shouldn't be any "trap games" in the playoffs. Makes little sense.

Yeah I read that article and I hope that guy eats his words. He used the regular season as an analogy yet the Colts won in the regular season and what happened? The defense is playing like its the playoffs I think we can win it all and makr the sickest championship Dvd out there.

I don't think there are trap games in the playoffs, its a whole different level. I'm hoping that the chargers win tho.

I'm almost positive the Chargers will blow out the Steelers. Fear not, though, the Titans will smoke them in the title game.
