Can I add anything to the water to speed up my tank cycle?

It has been about three weeks and there is still no nitrite in my tank. My ammonia is reading about 1ppm. Is there a product that helps to speed this process up. However I have a couple fish in the tank so it can't be anything that will hurt the fish. I have heard of the products Cycle and Biozyme (I think thats what its called) but like I said the cycle has started and there are fish in there. Will these products still help the cycle or not since its already started? Any information would be appreciated. will pick best answer.

    I prefer seachem stability..

Only activates when fish are present so it's not active in the bottle like cycle.

Point being with cycle you never know if your buying dead bacteria.

Plus stability has all 3 types of beneficial bacteria

Biospira was the best, but only in the lab

If you find it bring a cooler with ice to put it in for the trip home.

Constant refrigeration is mandatory or it dies instantly. (usually by the end of the car ride home)

I don;t even know anyone who bothers stocking it anymore.

    good luck!!!

What are you using to raise the ammonia levels? My tank has been cycling for a week and I am already at the nitrite spike stage and my ammonia is almost at 0. I have been doing nothing but adding fish flakes

Turn up the thermometer. Also you can buy BioSpora which supposively is liquid bacteria in a bottle that "cycles" the tank in 24 hours.

I heard Biospira is the best product that contains bacteria. Cycle and stress zyme might not work.

Are you using pure ammonia? Try adding ammonia to reach about 4 ppm. Bacteria gors best around 4-5 ppm but no more than that. You can increase the temp to 82 to help the bacteria multiply faster. Another option would be to add gravel or filter media from an established tank to yours to speed up the process.

Good luck, sometimes it takes long to cycle but be patient. It will finish cycling eventually. It took mine three weeks.

I used cycle for many years when I kept fish. I added it when fish were in the tank, and it never harmed them. I recommend it highly. I have heard of biozyme, and have used a similar product to help cycle my koi pond occasionally. I have never tried it in an aquarium though.

better than merely water is gravel, or clear out media. shifting the clear out itself over may be the appropriate, yet usually no longer sensible. merely undergo in suggestions that this could seed the tank, assisting it alongside in its cycle, yet won't magically finished the biking technique. P.S. it is not a count of merely being sterile, this is a count of no longer having everyday cardio bacteria colonies in the device to technique your ammonia into nitrite, nitrite into nitrate. If ranges are at 0, all is robust for now, yet shop a watch on it in the subsequent couple of weeks. If ranges get too severe, a water replace will help. It merely takes time for the bacteria to confirm. (Nitrates are got rid of by ability of water adjustments, and as long as they stay at decrease ranges, they are secure)

As far as you choose fish cycling it will not be fare to add any chemicals or ammonia to the tank, it will over stress the fish or case deaths.

Be patient, and things will develop normally and naturally , if in harry add more food.

In case of more delay remove the fish and do fish-less cycling. u may visit the following site for information:

Cycle is a great product it increases the tank cycle in the tank preparing it more for fish entry and in your case adding nitrate
