and its not illegal because by law you are allowed to make your own ringtones. the supreme court passed this ruling back in 2006. look it up.

as far as what someone else said about downloading other people's ringtones, that is illegal. but as long as you own the mp3 file, you can legally make it into a ringtone.

hmm, i havent found any ringtones, but for songs, purevolume.com is fabulous

its free and legal because its mainly bands trying to get their first break, although pretty well-known bands have been known to put up quite a few free songs as well

ive never had or heard of any virus problems from it either

the drawback for some people is that the site is pretty much only rock bands, so if you're looking for hip-hop or top 40 stuff, you likely won't find it there
