Is your EIN number the same as your sales Tax ID number? I just started my new online business?
I was assigned for an EIN number for when you first open up your own business, mine is an online business. On the website I am buying my products from they ask for a Sales Tax ID number isn't that the same as my EIN number? I think so but I want to double check?

No. The EIN number is generally issued by the Feds (IRS) and the sales tax ID number is issued by your state department of revenue. They do not share the same ID generator (for obvious reasons).
EIN number you acquired (presumably) from the IRS. This is essentially a "social security number" for a business. When you file your taxes, you will use this EIN number as your business' ID number.
The sales tax ID is issued by your corresponding state's department of revenue services (usually). When paying sales tax collected (either monthly, quarterly or annually depending on volume), you do so via a separate form than you would when filing your state and federal income taxes.

Get yourself an EIN... They're free. Just get it online. My tax preparer wanted to charge me $50 for it but I figured it was cheaper than that. That way you don't have to give out your social security number. Zoning - I paid $25 to have my house re-zoned as an office. As far as tax ID - none. You will need a state business license and possibly a town business license - if your home/office is in an incorporated area. If it's unincorporated, nobody bothers. I am a photographer
