What is going on with my fig trees?

I have two fig trees that I started in large pot holders last year. In the summer, they had gorgeous leaves which fell off in the fall. I live in upstate New York, so I brought them in for the winter. They are covered with beautiful green leaves again and I am quite surprised because I was told leaves would not appear again until summer. Will they lose the leaves again like they did in the fall? Not sure what to expect.

they will not lose their leaves in a warm enviorment. if left outside they have a good chance of dieng, but even in southern ny and also long island the coast of new jersy al the way down to the carolinas where they can be planted outside they still lose their leaves. thats because they go bare after a hard freeze, but come back to life in warm temperatures. scince your house is probably in the 70s it would be like spring outside so it has regrown its leaves thinking the season has changed.

seasons usually dont apply to indoor plants unless it has to do with the amount of light decreasing. good luck with your fig, and also with some much as well as a sheltered location, christmas lights, and planting in the ground with little water it may survive withers outdoors.
