Why is the movie so different from the book ?

I just finished watching the Twilight movie, and it is SOOO different from th book ? Why is thaT?

Cweevz I agree , but in the Harry Potter saga , the movies have SOO MUCH MORE details compare to Twilight , the differences in this movie are just AWFULL !!

    That happens with all movies made from books. There is so much information you can get out of a book. You can't relay that much information into a movies or it won't work in movie format. all a screenplay writer can do is try and capture the central story line and work from there.

    Movies are always different than books. You must have never read a book and watched a movie based on it prior to twilight before?

    i've also read the book and seen the movie, and personally i find the book way better!!

    they usually do that to books - the Harry Potter's, for example.

    they just can't get them the same way i guess..

    i know its so different..

    for me actually its a disappointment,,but you know what?! I watched the movie in theater til 4 times.. hahaha XD

    but i tink they cut many [important] scenes from the book cz maybe too time-consuming?! i dunno..

    but i juz hope that this new director, Chris Weitz, for New Moon will make New Moon as detail as he possibly can..
