I got a beautiful silk scarf for christmas and it was in a box so it has creases in it

No. Put it in the dryer with some slightly damp clothes for ten minutes and remove promptly before the cool down cycle it will be fine

Yes, use the proper setting on your iron and be sure to add water. Other options are putting the silk item in the bathroom while you shower and allow the steam to press out some of the wrinkles. But I suggest taking silk and all delicate materials to the cleaners.

Use VERY low heat and put a towel over the scarf. Do NOT let the iron just sit on the towel.

NO! Don't iron it!!! Steam it! If you don't have a steamer spray it lightly with water and put it on low/delicate setting in the dryer for 10 minutes or until its dry.
