Is it possible to lose a birthmark?
Okay, this is weird, I know, but just hear me out please?
Alright, I had a bug bite on my hand, and it was right next to (I mean REALLY next to it) a birthmark (raised). I picked at it absentmindedly, and the birthmark started to bleed because I had accidentally scratched it open. Now it's been scabbing up a bit, and I'm worried: Is it possible that the birthmark is gone now? The bleeding started right in the middle, and I don't want there to be a scar or something dead center.
Aha!
Thanks everybody, you were all a great help!

It's possible. If you scratched it really bad, and there is no birthmark in appearance. If there is a scar, then that means the birthmark is still there. But, it might not be gone, because a birthmark is with you forever and forever. So, I am not really sure. I am kind of 50% sure it's there, and 50% sure it's not. So what you have to do is simply visit the doctor, and he/she is going to be the person deciding if it's gone or not. Pros are always the solution to everything.
Goo luck, hun!!

yes its possible that the birthmark will be gone. I'm not sure if its completely gone, but i know that by scratching it and making it into a scab, the visible birthmark is gone. But birthmarks are pretty deep, so if it's all gone, I'm not sure. But it's fine because I had a birthmark disappear because I accidently cut my hand. Also, it is not uncommon for it to reappear.
and i don't know about the people who said "no" if they actually had this experience..

Firstly, yes. You can bleach your skin. I'm not a hundred percent sure how, but you can probably find out how by googling. Second, in MJ's case, it's both. He had the skin disease, which is very rare, so that would explain how you wouldn't know about it. See, what happens is that parts of your skin looses pigment. This meant that he had blotches of black and white skin colors on him. Because he was selfcoincious about this, he bleached some of his skin so he could have one visable skin tone.

No. Please don't pick it anymore. This will lead to infections as it is your birthmark and you cannot get rid of it. I have a grey birthmark and it has always been there.

It is possible! My son had a strawberry on the inside of his left ankle and as he grew, it disappeared. He no longer has it. My 1st born daughter had one on her forehead and it also went away as she grew. So yes, it is possible.
