Are earthquakes something to consider spiritually?

After seeing the below url, what do you think about Jesus' prophecy in Matthew 24:7

Update:

All answers were good, including LimeNinja's, to which I want to reply.

Sure more earthquake stations will record more quakes, but massive quakes are of an elite club. They can be detected thousands of miles away.

Note a few things LimeNinja.

For one, even though the number of stations has risen by the thousands since 1931, the number of large quakes has remained less than 7 a year from 1900 to 1998. The number has been alarmingly high since.

Concerning the last sentence of your link, that says they expect 17 quakes of the 7 magnatude in any given year,----there had been far less than that from 1900-1998, and drastically more than 17 since.

Government entities will quell concern. Your link is another example.

Thanks everyone for your answers.

Jesus said that would mark the last days....earthquakes in one place after another

    Matthew..5

Yes that is impressise, notice how they are Greater here in these last days...We are Close now read what Jesus says:THE year was 33 of our Common Era. The place? Jerusalem. One of Jesus Christ’s disciples had just spoken admiringly of the fine buildings in that ancient city’s temple area. But in response Jesus declared: “Do you behold these great buildings? By no means will a stone be left here upon a stone and not be thrown down.”—Mark 13:1, 2.

With that declaration in mind, Jesus’ apostles Peter, James, John and Andrew later approached Christ on the Mount of Olives. “Tell us,” they asked, “When will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are destined to come to a conclusion?” As Jesus then explained, that “sign” would have a number of features. Citing one of these, Christ said: “There will be earthquakes in one place after another.” Or, as the gospel writer Luke puts it: “There will be great earthquakes.”—Mark 13:3-8; Luke 21:11.

    Yes, Definitely.

On a global scale...things are intensifying.

As I've been saying since 9/11 and people around me were freaking out...

"Hold On To Your Socks...It's Going To Get A Lot Worse."

Yep. Along with all the other signs. Pestilence, famine and the big one, War and rumors of war.

The funny thing is that the scoffers wave these off as coincidence. Of course we also know that in the last days scoffers will do just that. Yet another sign.

    You bet.

“WHATS SHAKIN!!” a greeting of a close friend, meaning “What’s happening” and etc. Today if my friend was to ask this same question, I would respond, “There is a whole lota shakin goin on”. The word “earthquakes” as translated in KJV is “WHATS SHAKIN”.

Matt.24:1-2 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and His disciples came to Him for to shew Him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Matt.24:3 And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Privately, three questions are asked and three answers are given.

    1) when shall these things be, “…stone upon another…”, (Answer, Matt.24:4-6)

    2) what shall be the sign of thy coming, (Answer, Matt.24:7-28)

    3) (what shall be the sign of), the end of the world, (Answer, Matt.24:29-Matt.25:26)

    __WHEN SHALL THESE THINGS BE__

Matt.24:4-6 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

__WHAT SHALL BE THE SIGN OF THY COMING__

Matt.24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

against G1909 epi (ep-ee') A primary preposition properly meaning superimposition (of time, place, order, etc.), as a relation of distribution [with the genitive case], that is, over, upon, etc.; of rest (with the dative case) at, on, etc.; of direction (with the accusative case) towards, upon, etc.: - about (the times), above, after, against, among, as long as (touching), at, beside, X have charge of, (be-, [where-]) fore, in (a place, as much as, the time of, -to), (because) of, (up-) on (behalf of) over, (by, for) the space of, through (-out), (un-) to (-ward), with. In compounds it retains essentially the same import, at, upon, etc. (literally or figuratively).

Note: the separation of thought between Matthew 24 verses 6 and 7.

The word “against” does not translate: in opposition, contrary to, or anti (wars and rumours of war).

Correctly translate “against”: along side or overlaying. Since 1990 (30) new countries have emerged and mapmakers have been busy.

earthquakes G4578 seismos (sice-mos') From G4579; a commotion, that is, (of the air) a gale, (of the ground) an earthquake: - earthquake, tempest.

G4579 seio (si'-o) Apparently a primary verb; to rock (vibrate, properly sideways or to and fro), that is, (generally) to agitate (in any direction; cause to tremble); figuratively to throw into a tremor (of fear or concern): - move, quake, shake.

Note: “seismos” the subject determines what is in commotion: the air, the ground, or in diverse places.

Yes, hurricanes and earthquakes have been on the increase; however, we also see other signs of commotion.

Shaking the four hidden dynasties “PEER”: Political, Economic, Education, and Religion.

Luke 21:25-26 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Furthermore, there are spiritual “seismos” in diverse places.

Matt.24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

sorrows G5604 odin (o-deen') Akin to G3601; a pang or throe, especially of childbirth: - pain, sorrow, travail.

The travail or birth pangs of a new age and the contractions are getting closer together.

II Thes.2:1-4 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Rev.6:12-13 And I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

That "report" is intellectually dishonest. Here is the truth straight from the horses mouth...

Typical "believers" trying to find facts to fit their delusions where none actually exist. LEARN how to do research, and you won't need gods to explain things.
