Potty Training my 18 month old?
Hi..:D
I'm a mom to 3 little boys. I have an 18 month old son, and I just had twin boys on Dec. 21st.
My husband and I have been talking about potty training since we found out I was preg. and definitely once we found out we were having twins.
Anyway, my son is VERY interested in the potty. The big one at that. Everytime my husband and I use the bathroom he follows us saying "pee pee" and holding his "private" parts of his diaper.
He is always running to the bathroom saying "pee pee" or "poop poop". The prob. is that he always does that AFTER he uses his diaper. I'm trying to think of a way to sucessfully potty train him without causing strain on me or him.
I'm pretty sure that he is ready. Even if not then it's worth a try. I've been sitting him on the toilet everytime that he runs back there and he doesn't ever use it. But thats a start right?
THANKS!

okay, first off congrats on the children they sound wonderful
They have those new diapers that they can feel the wet sensation , i think there by huggies . Those are awesome for potty training.
Everytime we eat fast food like mcdonalds burger king and whatnot we collect the toys from the happy meal and put them in a big bucket, every time the baby uses the potty we let her choose a toy from the bucket as her reward. Children love to be rewarded. Explain that when you make on the potty you can choose any toy you want!
If he goes in his diaper , while you are changing him say see the poopies you should make poopies in the potty next time you have to go hunny , always be positive with it thats the key
good luck (:
I almost forgot! they have childrens storybooks that i put in the bathroom the books are all about the toilet and flushing and wiping , i used to sit her on the potty and read to her until she went.

18 months is pretty young. Just have the potty sitting there, so that they get used to it being around, but dont actively start the potty training til summer. It will take far longer and be far more frustrating for all of you if you try to do it too soon. Once the girls are ready, it should only take a couple of weeks to be trained, especially in nice weather when they can run around the house partly dressed!

put him on the potty every day and every day at the same times. Have him sit there for a couple of minutes and let the water run.
If he does go in the potty make a big deal out of it like doing a little dance and praising him he will love going potty.
Seems to me he is as ready as can be
