I have a Dell Inspirion B130 & it freezes up?
It freezes up after I start it and it gets to the desktop. Unfortunately, before any icons come up or the start menu at the bottom appears, it freezes. I can't go anywhere. I've tried all the F8 options and they don't help. It won't go into safe mode in any section. Anyone have any idea's?

Get out the vista or Xp disk you got given with the comp and put it in when you boot up. You may have to change the boot order so it boots from the disk. It can usually be done before windows is loaded in the Bios but I can't help you with this as it's different for a ll computers. I don't know if that will work but it's the best idea I have.

It sounds like the Hard Drive might be failing. Back up anything you want to keep and try to reformat and install Windows fresh. I don't know of any other way other than elaborate testing. If Windows installs without a problem then your on your way and must of been a software problem.

Your going to need to use your operating system disk to do a repair. Boot from the cd-rom, when it offers to repair your OS say yes.
After you get that fixed make sure you regularly scan/clean your registry.
