Why does my tongue feel like its getting cut?
I had a tooth pulled in the back of my jaw 4 days ago. The dentist said all the tooth is gone yet i cant talk or chew without something scraping almost cutting the side of my toung? I think it may be jaw bone where the tooth was. Is this normal? Does it eventually stop and grow over or will the dentist need to drill it down?

i think that when the dentist pulled out your tooth, your jaw is not used to open widely and thus after the tooth was pulled out, you can still feel something bothering in your tongue. it may be normal as the device might had touched your tongue during the pulling out of it or perhaps you got now the canker sore. (sometimes it happes to me after a dental check up). if it won't be cured within a week, better approach again the dentist and tell him what is going on inside your mouth esp. your tongue.

Get a second opinion from a good dentist. If he or she too says the whole tooth is gone, ask him or her what is cutting the side of your tongue.
I had a similar problem when I was in school. While the first dentist insisted that the whole tooth was gone, I got fed up after three visits and I decided that it was time to see another dentist. And, that paid off. The second dentist found a very minute piece of the tooth sticking out of my gums. I felt comfortable once that was removed.
