U.S.A. Man on Moon in 1960's?

Was it ever actually established if this really did take place or not? I think it was in 1965?

It never happened. The original footage is all doctored and fake. photographs have 2 shadows etc, backlit photos on the moon with no atmosphere you can see everything etc. It was staged. Just like the chinese did last year. (released space footage of them on the craft before the thing had even taken off)

In June 1969 It was live from start to finish on UK TV and I watched a lot of it, especially the walk on the moon. I was heavily pregnant at the time and my doctor told me to rest, so it was all I had to do.

If it had been faked then they would have just sent clips. After the event because of the risk of a bit of scenery falling or some other gaff which would have blown the whole thing.

They did not have the cinematic ability then to fake, like they do now.

Too many people would have been involved in the plot and you just can not keep that many people quiet!

It became boring to watch in a way, Apollo 13 was much more exciting. The real thing, not the film.

The Soviet Union was a country that was well ahead of us in the space race. They too were trying to get people on the Moon. (Little known fact: they had turtles go in orbit around the Moon and back, to show that it was possible to survive the radiation).

When Neil Armstrong took the first steps on the Moon, the Moon was over the Pacific Ocean and the images we got had to go through a radio-telescope in Australia.

The Soviets also followed it (and all the other lunar missions) on their own radio-telescopes and they were able to tell where the astronauts were.

If they had had any doubt that the thing was faked, they would have told the whole world right away. The "cover up" would not have lasted one hour (never mind 40 years).

Someone says that the fake photographs are never presented. That is untrue.

Many photos have been analysed and can be seen to be clearly fake.

For example identical backgrounds being claimed to be different locations.

I too saw the footage at the time and I always wondered why the astronauts were so reckless. Jumping and running and even on one occasion falling over. The space suits were relatively flimsy and I think the astronauts would have been ordered to be very careful.

The Sun appearing as background blurred illumination is an absolutely CERTAIN fake photo. The image should be crisp clear with radial spurs of light emanating from the disc.

    Fake mission. Probably not.

    Fake photo's YES YES YES

of course it actually happened. the only people who did not believe it really happened were those too scientifically illiterate to see through the BS that the hoax perpetrators were proposing, such as the footprints on the Moon's surface, and why the flag stood erect. The person who created the hoax did it merely for the money in book sales and the subsequent video sales. They actually put the documentary on cable television when i was a kid. although i did not know why the hoax originator was wrong (i didn't know enough about science yet), he has always bothered me.

unfortunately, when it comes to science, the average American does not understand the basic properties of physics. Because of this, they are easily taken advantage of by pseudoscience propagators, such as the man who claimed the Moon landing was a hoax. In fact, many Americans do not even realize that we landed on the Moon many more times than once.

Another common pseudoscience that people fall for is astrology. In fact, they don't even realize that what they believe is their astrological sign is probably not correct. This is because of something called precession, where the stars, and thus the constellations, are shifted in certain directions over large periods of time. The result is that while based on my birthdate, my astrological sign is Capricorn, in reality, it was Sagittarius that was in the northern sky. The people who have continued on with the tradition of astrology and horoscopes do not know about anything about science, much less precession, and so continue on reading their horoscopes, not even realizing that they aren't even the sign they've always used. i don't know. i alway sgot a kick out of that!

if you wanna see what your real horoscope sign is, you can check out the dates below. they are likely the correct ones.

    Capricorn - Jan 20 to Feb 16

    Aquarius - Feb 16 to Mar 11

    Pisces - Mar 11 to Apr 18

    Aries - Apr 18 to May 13

    Taurus - May 13 to Jun 21

    Gemini - Jun 21 to Jul 20

    Cancer - Jul 20 to Aug 10

    Leo - Aug 10 to Sep 16

    Virgo - Sep 16 to Oct 30

    Libra - Oct 30 to Nov 23

    Scorpius - Nov 23 to Nov 29

    Ophiuchus - Nov 29 to Dec 17

    Sagittarius - Dec 17 to Jan 20

if you want to make sure you absolutely have the right sign, you can go to the following link, type in your birthdate and time of birth and you'll be able to see a skychart of the exact sky that was out at the time, and thus your correct astrological sign. of course, it's all for kicks and giggles, since none of it has any bearing on truth whatsoever.

"Was it ever actually established if this really did take place or not?"

Wrong question, if I may? It should be "has anyone proved it was a hoax and why would they try to prove it as a hoax?"

If you are honest and like to look into things then there is plenty of info to prove they did. Examine the evidence (irony in there) for a hoax, look past the hype and blather. If you are reasonable open minded and switched and this is a genuine question then you can see for yourself.

A while ago I tried to see if the hoax would work, the more I thought about it the more I realised the idea is a non starter. Certain aspects of the hoax seem to me to be impossible.

Yes it was real. The people who blabber on and on about wrong shadows and lighting oddly enough never show you an actual demonstration. They just draw diagrams and give other artificial illustrations of what they think should have been the case.

There have been copious demonstrations by actual qualified photographers, physicists, and photo analysts to show that the lighting and shadows in the Apollo photographs are perfectly normal and expected, and can explain the physics that make it so. Most recently this was done on Mythbusters.

None of the conspiracy theorists has any training in photographic analysis, and as a result they make very silly and indefensible statements that only fool gullible laymen.

The first was in July of 1969, not June, and there were five additional manned landings between then and 1972.

Actually it was June 1969 and yes it happened.......I know lots of folks think it was an evil government plot to act like it happened but they are fools.

See what happens if you just talk off the top of your head like I did...I was wrong, it was in July 1969 as a later poster said.

Again I add that there are always folks with sulpher and brimstone steam squirting out of their ears who always think of conspiracies...Think of this...do you know how hard it is to keep a secret..even a family secret? Can you imagine how hard it would be to keep something like this a secret for forty years considering the thousands of people who needed to be involved? Ain't no way
