1 AnswerVideo & Online Games9 years agoChildren power - opinions please?
I am all for standards and believe that all parents should go to parent skills groups to learn the basics about what is and is not acceptable, but has what is considered 'good' parenting gone too far?
I am all for giving young people a voice and believe that children are little people, but when guidance and boundaries are in the long term the better solution, at what point does your child loose their right to their own way?
As some teenagers can pull every trick in the book to get their own way, surely it is better to let difficult children know that what can be quite extreme behaviour (for little people) stunts will not work, even if the text book says otherwise.
Not all children are the same and should not be treated as such, every situation determines quite differing remedies.
Extreme behaviour from little people of course needs looking into, some children can be very demanding and this does not necessarily mean they have a bad family, for example, my child has high functioning aspergers, something I knew when she was two, but the text book could not determine until she was 11

I think that God is the father and that Jesus is the son but the holy ghost??
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoThis is a really easy Maths question - economics related?
On the ITN news this evening, the news reporter asked us to feel sorry for the high earning tax payers as they have to pay 50p in the pound. The example they gave was out of £150,000.00 a person would pay £54,000.00. That seems more like approx 33p in the pound to me. Of course, I know enough about PAYE to know that Tax is only charged after a certain percentage of your income. I also know that a good accountant could easily bring the drastic 50p which really equates to 33p down considerably as if you can afford a good accountant, legal tax dodges are a breeze.
Could someone please tell me if my maths is wrong??

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoDifference between half of half (times) and Half divided by half?
It is strange that half of a half is a quarter an half divided by half is 1. I realise that one is times and one is divide, but in the real world, if you asked anyone to take half of a cake and divide it by half, they would say you had a quarter, but in mathematical terms....suddenly a whole cake appears!
The operation is reversed I realise, but can someone...in English, not in maths....please explain why?
6 AnswersMathematics10 years agoIs Laughter the best medicine?
My husband makes me laugh so much I could cry, he makes me smile when I am sad. Children make me scream with laughter because they are so literal. Some of the things people write on here are so funny, not many places you can go at 3 in the morning and laugh yer socks off. When you can laugh at yourself with others and at life, is that the best medicine?

8 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoWhat is the correct history behind the whole Israel/Palestine thing?
I have heard several different things and have heard loads of comments over the years considering there turbulent history, especially since the second world war.
I cannot even begin to have an opinion on the current situation without knowing something about what created the trouble. A bit like Northern and Southern Ireland, the history behind it goes back centuries.

13 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoThe world has gone Pete Tong...good or bad?
I do not like it, I wish I could stop suffering, halt global warming, blah, blah, blah. I am human, not some great entity that has control over the natural ebb and flow of existence.
Sometimes I think it would be better for us to stop trying to control what we cannot and accept human nature for what it is. The universe was created out of chaos, existence is one of chaos and calm, it is natural, let it be.
Yes, to let it go can mean destruction on many levels, but that is how things are. The human race once dwindled to 3000 people. It is survival of the fittest, like any other animal.
