Do you think I can be a good soccer referee?
I'm trying out to be a soccer referee for peers (18-25) at my school. I'm scared that I won't make a good referee. I'm generally not a confident person, and I'm scared I won't be able to handle gray zones or resolve conflicts.
Do I exactly follow the rulebook or let it slide?
What if they start disagreeing with my, how do i discipline them?
Help me have the confidence to deal with these situations!

As a qualified referee, I'd advise that you obviously need to stick to the rulebook, but try to let the game flow as much as possible as blowing up every time theres a tackle, it'll kill the game.
Try to use the advantage as much as possible and remember that if there's no advantage after 2-3 secs, to go back to the orginal foul and award the free kick.
If there's any hassle, take up a position where you can see exactly whats going on and don't break it up as its not your job. Watching it all will give you the ability to see what happened and then afterwards take the various players to one side and deal with them accordingly.
You need anymore info, email me on nick88s2003@yahoo.com and i'll be more than willing to go through any queries.
Good luck
(Oh and remember your positioning, run diagonal up and down the pitch to correspond with your linesmen ... you should always be on the opposite side of the pitch to your linesmen in each half of the pitch.)
