    8 = 2 x 2 x 2

    10 = 2 x 5

    12 = 2 x 2 x 3

    LCM = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 3 = 120.

    First factorize the numbers:

    8 = 2*2*2

    10 * 2*5

    12 = 2*2*3

    Take the largest number of each of the factors in the factorization and multiply them. So you multiply 2*2*2*3*5 = 120. That's the least common multiple.
