You can only extend your Open Question. How do you extend your Open Question:

» Go to your Open Question

» Click "Edit", then, click "Extend Expiration"

There appears to have been some confusion here:

    (1) Are you asking how to extend the time a question is available

By default, questions will accept new answers for three days or until the author of the question selects the best answer; which ever occurs first.

These three days can be extended by a further four, meaning a question shall accept new answers for up to a week. To extend a questions time, click the edit (pencil) option and select extend expiration.

    (2) Are you asking how to add more information to a question

As pointed out correctly by another user, questions can not be edited, however you can add additional details to a question by clicking the pencil (edit) menu and selecting add details.

You can extend a question in here by:

going to the question you want to extend

it needs to still be open,

at the bottom there is an activity bar.

There is a pencil icon with the word edit

    beside it.

    Click on edit

then choose extend the question expiration

Your question is for 4 days without extending it

if you extend it this will give you another 4 days

    or 1 week

Source(s): You can extend your question once

Underneath your question is a pencil. You click on the pencil, and either three or four tabs will pop down, and one will read EXTEND EXPIRATION. You click on that, and it's done. You will ONLY see the pencil if your question is open and not when it is in voting or resolved.

Go down to the toolbar and go to edit and go to additional details and type in what you want to say and it will come under your original question. There is no other way I know of. Hope this helps?
