What will the world be like in 100 years?
Considering how much change took place in human civilization between 1900 and 2000, what sort of world do you imagine existing by 2100? Will it be a greenhouse disaster with submerged coastlines and nations collapsing from food shortages and war? Will we have corporations on Mars? Robots that create perfect cocktails? Will progress leap forward like it did in the 20th, or will we slip backward into a new Dark Age? Will apes be our masters, as predicted by Homer Simpson? Are you optimistic or pessimistic? Some thoughts please. No need for an essay unless you feel like writing one.

If we can survive without a massive ecological disaster, either natural or man-made, I foresee a world with far less poverty and bloodshed.
Mankind should progress toward globalization with harmony replacing much of the prejudice, discord and political upheaval, as I feel we are maturing as a species.
Technical advances seem to be increasing exponentially - the world may figure out how best to harness solar power, leading to unlimited energy and advancements in quantum physics might lead to incredible resources, including, just possible, faster than light travel.

I don't think that there will be a greenhouse disaster in under 90 years, though in the future for sure if we keep going the way we are going. Some entire islands have had to be evacuated due to rising sea levels, 'environmental refugees'.
Not sure when, but in the future there will probably be wealthy corporations (such as apple etc) making trade decisions instead of governments, and will influence them to such an extent that they may as well be in charge of world affairs.
Hopefully there will be less poverty, but by 2100 I believe there will still be a long way to go.
I am optimistic about the future though! people will learn from our mistakes, as we have learned from others. As the species evolves, I think society will evolve in ideas and compassion.

Do you mean 2116?
2100 is only 84 years away - that's nearly 20% less time than you were asking about.
