My betta hates the filter, I need help finding a good one?

I've tried a couple of different kinds of filters but the current they produce is just too much for my betta. He ends up flipped over and stressed out. Not a happy fish.

Are there any filters that create less current?

What tank size do you have? I had a 2.5 at one time and it had a whisper filter on it. For the first week, it made bubbles that the betta did not like, but after that, no more bubbles and the current was fine. I had an octagon shaped tank, so he could swim down to the bottom where the current wouldn't bother him. Try adding a little shelter decoration for him. Bettas like to have hideouts.

If its only the betta in the tank, then you dont need a filter. It stresses them out.

Betta's do not like filters. The current from the pump drags their long fins and makes them upset. They will do just fine without one, just clean it regularly or get some snails (unless your Betta is territorial like mine). Good Luck!

How big is your tank try getting aqua clear any filter that lets you adjust the flow of it. Increase it at night and lower during day and feeding time.
