Is concealer a shade lighter or darker than foundation?
I need to get some concealer to cover up some scars left over from the chicken pox as my normal foundation doesn't cover them.
I've only ever worn foundation and then the other make up on top of that (blusher, eye shadow). I know you don't get the same shade as your foundation but I can't remember if you go a shade lighter or darker.
Can someone help please.
The scars I am trying to cover up are little pock marks. They are at the top of my nose (just above the bridge)

It's usually a shade lighter because people use it under their eyes. I use a concealer pallet by makeup forever, to cover scars I would use the clay colour.

Neither....it should match your natural skintone, just like your foundation. The point is to get a seamless look to blend in your imperfections, and not to look as if you're wearing makeup. If you buy it a shade lighter, you'll get the racoon/highlighted look, and if you buy a shade darker, it will only bring attention to the blemish/scar. Make sure to apply concealer after foundation, or else it will be wiped off when you apply your foundation.

NEVER go darker. I really wouldn't recommend going lighter as well unless you are using them it for under eye (the reason you go one shade lighter for under eye is to counteract the dark circles) I would try to go to a counter to test out the shades/get color matched as it also depends on what you are trying to cover up.
