I am an easy going person who likes helping people. I am currently trying to find work as either an integration aide or a disability carer.

  • What Bronte sisters book would be a good first classic for someone?

I've just started a new story and because the girl shares her name with the Bronte sisters it has pricked her interest to read them.

Having only read one myself - Jane Eyre (which I never finished because I stupidly watched a show that contatined spoilers) - I don't know where she should start.

    Can any of you help?

  • Blood tests and excercise?

I have to get regular blood tests and I am wondering if it is advisable to exercises on the days I have to get them.

My main fitness activities would be walking, gym and swimming. I'd probably only do the walking or swimming as my arm sometimes gets sore after the test and I probably wouldn't be able to use most of the machines I use

These are the proper blood tests you get at a pathology place

  • Eggless Cake Recipes?

I'm just curious is there such a thing as a cake recipe that doesn't use eggs.

Almost all the recipes I've seen for cakes, have egg in them and it seems unfair to people who have allergies to egg that they can't have a cake for a party or have to have the really basic sweets (like chocolate, fruit, etc) when they go to a party

  • Women's Equivalent to Tour de France?

They've been talking about the Tour de France on TV and I was wondering as it's an all male race is there a women's equivalent to it. It's mainly curiosity because you don't hear much about the women's side of sport especially when the men's one is so much more prominent in that particularr area.

  • Do the programs House of Tiny Tearaways or Little Angels have a website?

I'm looking for information on the programs House of Tiny Tearaways of Little Angels with Dr Tanya Byron.

I'm wondering if they have a website or if the episodes can be viewed online.

I can't watch the episodes on DVD or video as it is an English show and I live in Australia so the zones would be wrong.

I realise this is not specifically related to special needs but the shows are about young children with behavioural problems so I'm guessing the people in this area would have some knowledge of it

  • Is concealer a shade lighter or darker than foundation?

I need to get some concealer to cover up some scars left over from the chicken pox as my normal foundation doesn't cover them.

I've only ever worn foundation and then the other make up on top of that (blusher, eye shadow). I know you don't get the same shade as your foundation but I can't remember if you go a shade lighter or darker.

    Can someone help please.

  • When does Obama actually become President?

I'm not American so don't know much more than I've seen on the news about the election etc.

I know Obama is now the President elect but Bush is still doing all the presidential stuff. I'm just wondering when does Obama take over as the actual president.

  • Where does it say you have to be a certain age to use Yahoo Answers?

Can someone show me where in the community guidelines where it gives an age restriction for the use of Yahoo Answers?

I only looked at the first page of the community guidelines - as in not the part you see when it saids read more but I didn't see anything which would restrict the age of someone who wants to use Yahoo Answers.

Can someone show me an exact quote on this subject. I'm curious where it is because some people say that you need to be 18+ to be use this but then you get questions which quote a person's age (such as "I'm 13 and pregnant, what should I do? - I know this isn't a good question but it's the only one I can think of at the moment) and they are not deleted for going against the community guidelines.

  • What does LSNLN mean?

It's a term I saw in a job ad. The job is for an Integration Aide in a mainstream school. The ad saids that the position is primarily working with their 8 LSNLN students individually.

It then saids that knowledge or experience working with ESL students is an advantage.

Do they have anything to do with each other?

Yes I know that if I go for the job I should know what the term means. I've got experience with most areas of special needs I just need to know which area this is as it is a term I haven't come across before.

  • If it saids on someones profile their answers and questions are private do they show up under your question?

I mean if they've answered it obviously.

I ask this because I got an answer from a person who was not visible on the screen when I went into the question. When I went in to his profile (I have my answers thing set up to e-mail me when I get a new answer) his answers and question were marked as private. Does this mean that they cannot be seen by anyone other than him because I have done it with other people whose questions and answers have been private and their answers show up under the question they answered

  • Why do people only read half a question and then give an answer which doesn't really answer the question?

For instance in the 'diet and fitness' category a girl asked "Am I too fat to wear tight jeans" - she then when on to explain how tall she was and how much she weighed and the size she wore. Saying she could wear one size and they were comfortable and the next size down was tight on her. A lot of people when given her height/weight responded with "you're not fat" or words to that effect. When the point of the question was to ask if she was too fat to wear a particular item of clothing - not to ask if she was fat generally.

So I'm asking why do people only bother to read the first half of a question or only read half of the details before answering someone.

  • Help please. I have a question about unusual periods?

I have had continuous bleeding for about a month. Before that I couldn't even work out when my period would show up as it was pretty irregular - I think it was every 5 weeks but not too sure.

Included in the bleeding some days is thick blood

Could any of you suggest what it might be. I'm 23 and weigh 120 kg does this have anything to do with it?

  • Is this possible?

I was watching Parent Trap (Hayley Mills version- not sure if it makes any difference I haven't seen the remake version) and it saids something in it about a 6 month split where one parent gets the kids for 6 months and then the other parent gets them for 6 months.

I was wondering if this would actually work as in the film the parents live in different states so the children would have to go to two seperate schools. One in California, one in Boston

My question is would this be allowed?

  • Can rabbits be 'fixed' like dogs and cats are?

I mean like spaying and neutering them.

I was watching a TV show yesterday which has a Vet segment on it and he told the kid who owned the rabbits (1 boy, 1 girl) that if he didn't want them to have babies then he would have to seperate them.

So I was wondering are cats and dogs the only animals which can be spayed/neutered? And is the only possible way to stop other animals from reproducing to seperate them

  • Is there any way of finding out where someone is from on Yahoo! Answers?

The reason I ask is that in some categories people say "Why don't people from your country understand that ... is for ..." mainly in the special ed category which seems to be a dumping ground for all the things that YA can't figure out where to put.

I know on my profile it does not say where I am from and it doesn't say it on anyone else's profile I have looked at so how can you know where someone is from?

  • As a non-Catholic how do I say that I support the Catholic ethos to work in a Catholic School?

I'm currently looking for work as an Integration Aide/Teacher's Aide and when I look at the positions for the Catholic schools one of the selection criteria is to support the Catholic ethos.

I am a christian and believe most of the same stuff as the Catholics but I am unsure how to say in words how I support the Catholic ethos beyond just saying "I support the Catholic ethos as taught in your school" when I write an application for these jobs.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could say.

Thank you for answering my question

  • Parenting laws?

Are Grandparents able to go for custody of a child if one or both of the parents are able to care for their child?

My friend's partners mother wants to go for custody of the child she is currently carrying because both her and her partner have some degree of mental condition.

My friend was on mood stableizers (she can't take them anymore due to what they contain) and her partner suffers from schizophrenia.

My friend has told him that if he wants to be part of the baby's life he has to take his meds.

So does his mother have any legal rights to go for custody.
