Memory question with two existing 500MB memory?

I currently have two Apacer 512 MB PC2-5300(667) installed in my PC. They are installed in slots 1 and 3 (4 slots in total). I checked on the Crucial website and it recommends that I install matching pairs with not more than 1GB per slot. Would I be able to install a pair of 1GB memory (in slots 2 and 4) in addition to the existing two 500MB memory and do they have to be the same make?

Thanks in advance.

They dont have to be the same make it is advised that they are the same speed. Go for 800mhz if you can? I would check your motherboard will support this first! then if your 1gb(2x512mb) are not 800mhz you can just remove them for greater speed or leave them in and run at your lowest speed!
