  • Kaspersky 2009 installation problem?

I recently installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 but during the installation process I was instructed to first uninstall Mcafee site advisor and Threatfire, reboot and then reinstall Kaspersky. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so is there a way to work around it without causing problems with Kaspersky?

    Thanks

  • Memory question with two existing 500MB memory?

I currently have two Apacer 512 MB PC2-5300(667) installed in my PC. They are installed in slots 1 and 3 (4 slots in total). I checked on the Crucial website and it recommends that I install matching pairs with not more than 1GB per slot. Would I be able to install a pair of 1GB memory (in slots 2 and 4) in addition to the existing two 500MB memory and do they have to be the same make?

    Thanks in advance.

I currently have a SATA hard drive and a ATA DVD writer in my PC. I have just bought a SATA DVD writer. Am I able to install the SATA writer in addition to the ATA writer? There are a total of 4 SATA ports on the motherboard, one which is occupied by the hard drive.

    Thanks in advance

  • Ripping and burning DVD's?

I would like to know what programs I can use to rip DVD's to my hard drive and then burn to a blank DVD. I have a personal collection of DVD's (every single one bought and paid for). Don't worry I am strictly against pirating. I would just like to know how it is done.

  • Sound problem on Vista PC?

I have a set of Genius speakers attached to my PC via the integrated sound card and a set of Logitech headphones connected via USB. They have worked together flawlessly for years until today. I changed the default on my PC to the speakers and the sound was garbled and echoing as if in a large hall. One could not even make out the voices. I plugged the speakers into my other PC and the sound was normal.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Networking two PC's?

This is my problem. I have a Netgear router with only one port, so I purchased a 5 port switch. I plugged the DSL line into one of the ports on the switch and then ran a cable to both my PC's so both are connected on the same DSL line. In other words the networking ports on both PC's are occupied by the cable connection to my DSL line. My question is, 'is there a way to network these two PC's to share files, folders etc other than the usual networking method'? Can the two PC's see each other via the router connection to the internet?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

  • unable to play DVD's?

I have tried Windows Media Player Classic, Windows Media Player and AVS DVD Player and I get no picture or sound. I have all the correct codecs so that is not a problem. Could it be the onboard gaphics or what? The DVD drive light flashes for a while and then stops. I am able to play CD's on the DVD player.

    I would appreciate any advice.

    Thanx

  • Unable to sign onto Yahoo Answers?

This has happened to me in the past and has just happened again. I was unable to sign into Yahoo answers. When I brought up the sign-in page and attempted to sign in it just redirected me back to the sign-in page without actually signing me in. It also said something to the effect that my PC was blocking me being redirected to another URL. I corrected the problem by going into safe mode and doing a system restore to a day I was able to sign in. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might cause this anomaly?

  • Unable to sign in to Yahoo Answers?

I just asked this question and got two bright sparks who asked "How did you ask this question?" If you had read the entire question you would not be replying with inane remarks.
