Kaspersky 2009 installation problem?

I recently installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 but during the installation process I was instructed to first uninstall Mcafee site advisor and Threatfire, reboot and then reinstall Kaspersky. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so is there a way to work around it without causing problems with Kaspersky?

Thanks

Colin J is right, When you have not paid for Kaspersky yet, do not install the trial

Eset Smart Security is the one to install, like Colin also suggested.

I tested over the last 12 months several internet security programs.

Third came Kaspersky Internet Security 2009

    Second Bitdefender Total Security 2009

Fist and best is ESET Smart Security. Found more than any other program and easy to install.

did purchase it and no regrets al all so far.

No problems with Threatfiree. I do not have McAfee Site adviser.

You should install Browser Defender instead of McAfee Site adviser

    Much better and trustworthy

Did you uninstall them yet? If you didn't, just uninstall them and then restart Kaspersky installation.

If you uninstalled them and Kaspersky setup still shows the error, you have to open Run, type regedit, press Ctrl+F, and then search for any traces of McAfee Siteadvisor and Threatfire, etc and then delete them. Then restart and then click on the setup file.

You will find that jumped up programs do not like any other on Their computer, if you did not pay for Kapersky, getEset Security, it is miles ahead of anything else, http://www.eset.com/ and it will not argue against any other. If you paid for Kaspersky, you will have to wear it.
