Sound problem on Vista PC?
I have a set of Genius speakers attached to my PC via the integrated sound card and a set of Logitech headphones connected via USB. They have worked together flawlessly for years until today. I changed the default on my PC to the speakers and the sound was garbled and echoing as if in a large hall. One could not even make out the voices. I plugged the speakers into my other PC and the sound was normal.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

First: Control Panel (Classic view) > Device Manager, expand Sound, video and
game controllers, right click the device and select Properties, does it show any
problems with the device?
If it says "This device is working properly", right click on the Speaker icon in
the Notification Area of the Taskbar, select Playback Devices, right click in
the window and select both "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected
Devices". Highlight Speakers, press Properties button, and if there is something
like "Disable all audio enhancements", check that, or uncheck any enhancements
that are enabled.
This *might* help.
