Question about autographed baseballs?

I was talking to someone else about this the other day and we had a disagreement. Is an autographed baseball worth more if it is inscribed with something meaningful?

For example if I had a ball signed by Bucky Dent, would that be worth more than a ball autographed by Buck Dent with the inscription '78 WS MVP?

Thanks for the help.

Update:

I know that personal inscriptions ("To my biggest fan....") are no good, but what about inscriptions about a player's accomplishments (MVPs, Perfect games/No hitters, etc.)??

inscriptions such as HOF96 and '78 WS MVP add about another 1/3 or so of the original value to the ball.

Personilizations like "Good Luck Chuck" devalue the ball by about 2/3 of its total value.

Generally they are worth about the same. People who really collect auto's usually just like the name. Some people might like a special inscription which might demand a very, very slight increase in price. But basically they're worth about the same.

OTOH, if the ball was personally inscribed to you, then it's worth almost nothing.

In other words, don't get a ball signed, "To John, Best Wishes Bucky Dent"

NO. I NEVER SEEN A PETE ROSE SIGNED BASEBALL THAT SAID HOW MANY HITS HE HAD FOR THAT SEASON OR LIFETIME OR SAYING HE BEAT TY COBB RECORD!
