Can the Israeli's over the top destruction of Gaza be explained by their psychosis?

This question if possible is for qualified psychiatrists/ psychotherapists. I genuinely need to know if my theory about Israeli behaviour has a basis in psychosis.

To date Israel has suffered 13 deaths including 7 soldiers killed by themselves| (friendly fire) Yet they have destroyed the homes and businesses of thousands of innocent poor Palestinians. Killed nearly 1000 Gazans and hospitalised 4000. This cruelty and intemperate reaction to the minimal deaths suffered by the ineffective, homemade rockets of Hamas is mind numbing in its brutality. Even before they launched the attacks on Hamas, they deprived Palestinians of their ability to trade; to access clean water; to treat their sick and to educate themselves – even to preventing visits to relations by surrounding Gaza with an impregnable razor wire border.

Can it be that Israeli’s already having that sad Jewish mindset of victimisation - a historical phenomenon not just related to the Holocaust but from being universally reviled and blamed for so many things: murdering Jesus; unfair usury; promotion and use of slavery etc etc over the centuries are no longer able to deal with the nuisance and minimal damage of Hamas in an adult manner without lashing out with helicopter gunships, tanks, fighter jets and as it is now proven phosphor bombs.

Are Israeli’s emotionally retarded. Is there a deep psychosis that has been released after centuries of abuse from the world? Please note I refer to Israeli’s not Jews per se. Jews in the rest of the world are noted for their civilised behaviour, great learning and great contribution to human advance.

They've had this sado-masochist "victimize or be victimized" thing since biblical times,so I don't think it's just something that emerged after the genocide attempt in Europe 65 years ago. They've been this way whenever they've had control of a territory. Look at post-war Hungary under the brutal Matthias Rokosy. Or for that matter just read their "book of judges".

Since when is war a mathematical equation? The basic objective of any warring party is to inflict maximal damage on the enemy while minimizing its own casualties. Was there anything proportional about the US war in Iraq ? Or about Iraq 's invasion of Kuwait for that matter? Or about Russia 's recent war against Georgia ? Israel is doing exactly what any other country has done in the past. This is how war works.

Would a British citizen complain that "too few" British soldiers are being killed in Iraq ? Probably not.

And on a more elementary note: Palestinian military inferiority is not an indication of moral superiority. Palestinian insistence on resorting to violence despite this military weakness is an indication of poor judgment perhaps - yet it is by no means an indication of moral virtue. Being militarily weak does not make the Palestinians right.

Yes. It is as though their national anthem was that old 60's classic "Psychotic Reaction". I keep hearing that tune in my mind as I watch the carnage in Gaza.

Anyone who uses the term "palestinian land" really should read a bit of history.

There is, nor was there ever, a country or nation called "palestine".

The land was part of the Ottoman Turk empire for centuries and then a British protectorate. It was the british, after WW2 that donated the land to the Jews.

Oddly enough, the Jews, at the time, gave part of THEIR land to some "disposessed" palestinians who claimed they had no homeland (despite the fact that the real palestinian homeland is Jordan.

Hamas begged for this war. They fired over 400 rockets (it's naieve to call them "homemade" since they are highly accurate to a range of 30 miles) into Israel and broke EVERY single cease fire. Even the ones they themselves initiated.

And NOW that Israel has taken the gloves off, they cry like a 6 year old girl with a skinned knee for anyone to help them.

Know what? The nations of the world know full well that Israel is in the right, but for some unfathomable reason, they are compelled to pretend that they are outraged by it's actions.

Trust me, no one will care one Iota if Israel wipes Gaza from the face of the earth.

It will be like scraping something disgusting off of the shoe of humanity.

Israel is the biggest terrorist organization on planet earth for what they have dont in the last 60-70 years.

They have no right to be in Palestinian land.

    Politically they stole the country

Religiously the old testament states that the Jewish people cannot enter the holy land until the return of the messiah and considering the rejection of Christ they are technically banned by their own doing

The behavior is emphatically psychotic. As to Jews in general,I think it escapes you that there is always a difference between individual and group psychology; in their group mode they are in my experience quite aggressive. The "civilized behavior" goes right out the window when mob psychology takes over. The jew that is detested is not the singular Jew but the Jew in plurality.

Yes. It is clearly the handiwork of a society gone mad. It is not a conventional engagement; it's a wilding. A rampage. It's is literally a collective psychotic outburst.

thats a cheap shot, on behalf of Israeli Jews. 'Victimization' , Is it wrong for somebody to say 'never again shall I be victimized' ?

Look at the f@#king size of Israel and its geographical status, its surrounded by a bunch of non rational radicalised people who show anything but tolerance towards a people of non islamic denomination.

Is it so difficult for arab nations to co-exist alongside non muslims ?

answer me this, despite the b/s actions of Israel thus far - what other option did they have ? sit back and let thousands of rockets fly into their country AIMED at innocents ?

Israel are trying to target the hamas seperatists and ppl behind the rocket firing, i know its not satisfying as an answer but sometimes the one who really wants conflict will not see reality if it bit him on the ***.

Its simple - leave the jews alone and they won't harm a soul in the middle east. Unfortunately everybody has it in for Israel, as if Israel is harming our way of life, or interests.

Think long term not short term, do we appease hamas seperatists (and support their terror tactics) or do we try to teach people right from wrong ?

The Palestinian peoples arms and legs are not broken, and neither are their brains mal nourished - surely they can oust hamas and elect a government that the world won't brand as 'terrorists' ?

Its a complex thing this, but Israel has gone WAY out of hand with their operations - w/e the f@#k they're trying to do, its not being done v.well and if this onslaught of war mongering doesnt 'finish hamas' then its a waste of time for them, no matter how many planes/tanks they use. They're just aggravating the situation more and then crying out to the world when the Palestinians get their revenge.

no, it's a perfectly legitimate response to hamas's attacks. russia did the same thing in georgia, but it's not muslim so you didn't see people with head scarves rioting in the streets. any country has the right to defend itself.

" Is there a deep psychosis that has been released after centuries of abuse from the world? Please note I refer to Israeli’s not Jews per se."

the modern state of israel has been around for 60 years, not centuries. you ARE obviously talking about Jewish people.

There is no psychosis. It is a healthy dose of survivability for one's children. It is a normal human instinct of which is lacking in many of the Palestinians. When one's children are being threatened one defends them with all their might not proportionality.

The interesting note is that not only does Israel defend her children but she also defends the children of Gaza in the process.

    Israel defending her innocent children:

Hamas indoctrinating their children and robbing them of their innocence:

It is also interesting to note that Palestinians were polled after the Yeshiva massacre and 84 percent of them supported it (murdering Israeli children)

2007 statistics show 52.2 percent of Palestinian population are children age 18 and under and 93 percent have experienced domestic violence (Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics and the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion (PCPO))
