What the heck should I do?

Last Wednesday I had some 5 day old Tuna Casserole for lunch. It was hot when I hate it and tasted fine. An hour or two after I ate it I started getting a mild pain in my upper stomach right under my breast bone. The pain got worse and spread into my left side under my rib cage. It was excruciating! I hurt when I would take a deep breath and I couldn't lay down without pain and shortness of breath. I took some acidopholus and drank some aloe vera juice the next day and by the next day(36 hours after it started) I felt better. Now, one week later it's back. I ate some spicy tacos last night and by this morning the pain was back. I don't have health insurance. I want to be seen by a doctor but I will have to go sit at the County Hospital for hours. I'm 37 years old and am a runner. I don't smoke and don't have a history of heart disease so it's unlikely it's a heart attack. Has anybody experienced this before. I did some research on it and it could be a number of things. Should I just suck it up and go sit in the ER forever to be seen by a doctor?

Sounds like what happened to me when I had gall stones. I had the exact same pains. I could hardly breathe. The pains would come and go. I went to the doctor several times, and he told me I was to young to have any serious problems.. This was years ago and it was an old doc. It got so bad over a few months time, that when I had an "attack" I would go to the ER for a pain shot. Finally a young doctor that was on call, told me he suspected I had gallbladder disease (gall stones) , requested I come in the next day for tests. As it turned out he was correct and within a weeks time I had my gallbladder removed. Have never had another problem. I am 40 now, and was 21 at the time..

It might just be really bad heartburn. I would recommend that you go to your doctor and discuss it with him. If the pain is so immense that it incapacitates you or it comes back even though you haven't eaten anything, I would probably tell you to go to the ER. Since it doesn't seem to last too long, I really think you should just have a nice sit down visit with your doctor.
