I need help with audio/video for iPod Nano 3rd generation?

I purchased an audio/video cable for my iPod. I changed the settings to tv out, and the ntsc setting is the default. I can get audio, but no video when I plug the cables into the television. The product specs state that the cable are compatible with iPod nano 1st, 2nd, and video. Any suggestions? Thanks.
