  • help with Excel formulas?

I know there's a way to do this, but I can't figure it out. I need a logic formula that will result in the entry of a symbol, letter, or number into a cell dependent upon whether data has been entered into another cell. In other words, if there is a date entered into cell D8, then put a check mark or an "x" into cell D9. I hope this makes sense.

  • What to do about sis?

My mom doesn't get to visit us often because she's older and doesn't care to fly alone. After a recent trip to visit her, my sister suggested bringing her home with us to visit. The main purpose was to see my niece in a play. She asked if I could help entertain her, and if my mom could stay at my house if my sister's house was too warm. I told her that of course I would. She also mentioned taking her to a casino since my mom had never been.

Sis and mom arrived home a day after us (Sunday). I didn't hear anything from her until Monday. She called and said that she didn't want to monopolize mom's time, and that mom could stay with me Friday night (after the play) and then I could bring her back Saturday evening. She then told me that she and her best friend took mom to the casino on Sunday. I was a little bothered that I wasn't invited, but hey, it was her plan with mom. I invited sis, mom, and my four nieces and nephews for supper, which I cooked. My 18 year-old nephew (one of the youngest) was the only one to offer to help clean up after supper.

I didn't hear anything Tuesday, so I e-mailed my sis Wednesday morning and invited everyone for supper again. At 3:30, sis called and said that my timing was good; she had to work and I could pick mom up for supper and bring her home (sis's house) after.

Friday night we all went out for supper and then to the play. My sis told my mom to pack everything and take it with her to go to my house. After the play, mom asked sis when she'd be coming back, and sis didn't give her a clear answer. She just looked at me and jokingly said, "when you're sick of her, send her back.". Saturday, when driving mom back to sis's house, mom commented that she was worried that she wasn't expected back so soon. I told my mom what my sis had told me on Monday. I then told her that if she wanted to go back to my house, that was okay with me too. She went back to sis's house. I asked sis and mom if they wanted to come for supper one night this week.

Sis called this morning and asked if I wanted to do supper one night before mom leaves. She said that she had plans with mom for Wednesday, but Thursday would be fine. Then she said that I could do supper tonight if I'd rather. I told her that I'd have to do some shopping (I'm cooking for 9 after all) and that Thursday would be better. I work, and wouldn't have a lot of time to shop and then cook for everyone.

So, am I wrong for being a little peeved at sis? If mom were having fun, I might feel better, but my mom aid that when she's with my sis, my sis is tired after work and they just sit and watch movies. I know money is tight, but there's so much here to do that's free that mom has never done.

  • 2001 Dodge Durango RT...?

I'm looking at buying this vehicle with 86,550 miles on it. The dealership is rebuilding the transmission because it was slipping. I've seen a few notes on the net about tranny problems and I'm wondering if the problems repeat after the tranny is rebuilt or if rebuilding takes care of the problem. I haven't seen many follow up posts. Any advice would be helpful.

  • Trouble using links and log-ins with a netbook...?

I recently purchased a netbook and have had some trouble accessing links on certain web sites and have been unable to log in to certain other sites. I've had no trouble on my desktop and no trouble on a laptop. Is there a compatibility issue with netbooks that I'm not aware of?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I just bought a 2004 Honda Rebel 250...?

I've put about 1000 miles on it, and I'm still waiting for the manuals from the dealership. In the meantime, I want to take it in for an oil change and some routine maintenance. Besides changing the oil, cleaning and tightening the chain, and checking/replacing the air filter if needed, what should I have them check out?

I'm a new rider, and just want a check-up since it's a used bike. I don't want the dealership to sell me everything but the kitchen sink.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I'm looking for the specs for the South Carolina DMV motorcycle road skills test?

I'd like to know the specifics so that I can practice before taking the test. How far apart are the cones for the weaving, and how wide is the "box" that you have to be able to turn in? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  • I need help with audio/video for iPod Nano 3rd generation?

I purchased an audio/video cable for my iPod. I changed the settings to tv out, and the ntsc setting is the default. I can get audio, but no video when I plug the cables into the television. The product specs state that the cable are compatible with iPod nano 1st, 2nd, and video. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Information about herbs and herbal remedies:?

I'm new to herb gardening and would like to find some free sources for information. I've tried a few herb books and find that most leave plenty to be desired.

I also know that there are plenty of free herb charts to be found, but finding them isn't always easy.

I would appreciate any links or suggestions.

Thanks and have a grateful day!

  • Linksys wireless connection issues...?

I installed a Linksys wireless router, hard wired to an HP running XP. I installed a Linksys wireless g card in a Dell running 2000. I cannot get the card to read the access point. My SSID doesn't show up when I perform a site survey. The card shows that the adapter is active, and I can pick up other SSIDs, but not mine. My question; is this more likely an issue with the braodcast, or is 2000 not working well with the card? I'm tempted to install the router on the Dell and use it hard wired and connect the HP running XP with the wireless card. Would this be a better solution, or should 2000 work fine with the g card? Thanks.

  • My computer will read some music cds but not others....?

When I put a music cd in the cd player, sometimes it immediately starts up, and other times it doesn't. I received two music cds for Christmas. One is detected, the other is not. Both are store bought music cds. What's the difference, and how can I fix this? My system doesn't even recognize that there is a cd in the drive when I go through my computer.

  • home networking?

What is the easiest and least expensive way to network two home computers. I need to be able to share files and possibly share an internet connection. This is only a temporary situation, so I don't want to go to the trouble of setting up a wired or wireless router. I've been told that an Ethernet crossover cable would be one solution. Any suggestions and information would be helpful. Any detailed "how to" answers would be GREATLY appreciated.

I am setting up a database for a client listing for a business. I want to use drop down lists to choose the client name to enter, as well as for the employees initials. I've set up the drop down list, but need to set it up so that the person adding the contacts cannot enter their own data, but must choose from the drop down list. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Internet realtionships?

There are a whole lot of internet sites out there these days that are established for the sole purpose of finding partners for sexual relationships. Yes, I know all about them, and I'm even a member of one or two, but I will ask that you check your moral and religious opinions & judgements at the door if you are going to answer this question.

How do you think sites such as these impact society sociologically. I know my thoughts on the subject, but I'm curious from a sociological standpoint what other people think about this. Again, I'm looking for opinions about the impact on society in general, not opinions as to the sites or the members thereof.

  • My black lab won't stay home. Any suggestions?

We have a fenced yard, part chain link and part wood. He can climb the metal fence, and can jump the wood fence. He can also jump my neighbors chain link fence, which is about 5' high. We put in an invisible fence, but he doesn't seem to mind being shocked in the least. He has unlatched gates, dug tunnels, and can open the latch on my screen door.

Someone suggested another dog to keep him company. I'm open to any and all suggestions.
