it's to save money. California has had budget troubles since before Governor Schwartzeneggar.

Sounds like the problems with the DMV aren't related to how they are run, but rather the idiotic policies where people try to pretend that cutting taxes will somehow magically fund needed government services. Also, there is no proposal by Obama or anyone else to have government "run health care." If there was, and you wanted to make a comparison, why compare to automobile services? There are actual government-run health care programs in every modern, developed, industrialized nation in the world except for the USA. Results - they get better health care for a higher percentage of their population than we do for less than half the costs per person. Most of your question is based on ignorant imaginary scenarios with no basis in reality. Edit: So you're "shocked," but can't site any specifics to back up your paranoid claims about government "running health care." Why am I NOT "shocked"?

Only a complete idiot would close the DMV on Friday and Saturday. It makes no sense whatsoever. That's exactly when they should be open! Any other days would be acceptable.

Make an appointment -- in and out in 20 minutes.
I don't think he picked the best days -- people who work should have the option to go in on Sat./Sun.. I would've rather them close on Mon./Tues..
Live in SD, Ca. Was in and out of the DMV in 15 minutes w/ appt.

Frankly its just another government (tax collecting) agency that should be closed forever. There is no need for it at all except to collect a tax.
